The literature supports that 80% of the population, ages 65 and older have experienced BPPV, the most common causes of vertigo. Additionally, it is estimated in the United States that 35% of adults, 40 years or older have experienced some sort of vestibular dysfunction . In order to treat this specialized population, clinicians need to be aware of the best available evidence including assessment tools and treatment techniques. This course taught by leading experts in the field, will focus on both the evidence-based information needed to care for the patient with dizziness as well as the practical skills to treat it.

Day 1 of this live webinar will provide an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and discuss common central and peripheral disorders. It will also focus on evidence based examination and rehabilitation of the patient with dizziness, as well as medical and surgical management.

Day 2 of this course is a live in-person workshop that will focus on evaluation and treatment techniques including: gaze stability testing, BPPV testing and treatment, oculomotor screening, and exercise prescription. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these skills, and receive feedback from the instructors.
